| Such a good film! |
So I went to the cinema a few days ago to watch the 3rd installment of the "Night At The Museum" franchise with my friends. It was the first time I'd been in a long while and I was amazed to see that Cineworld cinemas have
started allocating seats to people again. It doesn’t seem like that big of a
deal but with allocating seating comes the annoyance of having to “politely”
ask people to get out of your seat and find their own.
It’s been a while since seating has been allocated in this
particular cinema and I think it’s been a while since I’ve sat in an allocated
seat. Sure there is the positive that you know you will be able to sit with
your friends (if not that many people go or you are able to get to the cinema
really early). But it doesn’t stop the fact that you can’t choose where you
want to be!
Also if there is a huge number of people going (normally
more than 5) then you struggle to find seats that are all together as they
don’t tend to block people together, even when they know the film will be
popular! If you are split into awkward groups then you have to decide which
people you want to sit with but I suppose it does let you know which people
actually like you.
Personally, at the cinema I like to sit in the middle of a
row close-ish to the back of the room but not right at the back. I had a system
of where is best to sit so that you can enjoy the screen fully without losing
focus on one side or another. But with the reintroduction of allocated seats I
will no longer have the chance to choose my perfect seat as I don’t know the
seat number and they rarely let you look at their computer screen to choose the seat
yourself.
I think this is a step backwards for cinemas as it is quite
bothersome. Although for a screening that you know is going to be popular it
makes sense to allocate the seats per ticket but something were the screen
barely holds a couple of hundred people then perhaps you should change your
priorities.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this particular topic
so drop me a comment below or at one of my social media accounts!
Hasta la fuego
Lauren :)
